Tim has an MBA from Carlson School at the University of Minnesota, where he studied integrative leadership and stakeholder collaboration for social and environmental impact. He has consulting experience in business modeling, organizational design, and process improvement for social enterprise, as well as 12 years’ experience in IT, from coding to department management.
Ted spent 12 years in the hospitality industry, where he implemented operating procedures at his company that helped yearly revenue grow from $350,000 to $3 million over 5 years. He brings expertise in data analytics, systems thinking, and strategy design to Ecotone’s work to measure impact and social return on investment.
Will brings 5+ years experience in impact-oriented consulting work from the World Bank, to a Latin American think tank, to a social enterprise in Pakistan, among other projects. In each case he has worked to support various stakeholders understand and maximize their positive impact. Will received an MPA from Cornell University, graduating as an Environmental Finance and Impact Investing Fellow, and received his BS from the University of Minnesota in applied economics.
Stephanie Shekels analyzes research and collaborates with our Senior Economist to build the evidence base for the impact value map. She also helps clients understand and communicate their impact through the creation of the Impact Overview. She brings experience in sustainable land and food systems, and she received a BA in Chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis.
Data Visualization Partner: Background Stories
Background Stories is a design consultancy that uses visuals to communicate complex information on social and environmental issues — particularly for non-expert audiences. They create infographics, data visualizations, online interactive experiences, and more. Arlene Birt, founder and visual storyteller at Background Stories is also a professor at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, teaching courses on infodesign and sustainability since 2008.
